The NSCA's annual convention will be a gathering of some of the best and brightest minds in the field of strength and conditioning and athletic development and the list of presenters reads like a "Who's Who" in the fitness field. Among those scheduled to appear and present at the conference are Vern Gambetta, Steve Fleck, Gray Cook, Lee Burton, Mark Stephenson, Jose Antonio, Robert Panariello, Mike Stone and Mike Nitka. And these are just a few of the great names on the roster of presenters.
There's an incredible amount of variety in the presentations and I'm looking forward to getting into as many of them as possible over the three-day event. Things kick off Wednesday afternoon with 10 pre-convention sessions that are dedicated to a variety of subjects. However, since I can't get to Vegas until Thursday morning I'm going to miss (among others),
- Developing Durability Within Athletic Performance
- Circuit Training for the Tactical Athlete
- Incorporating Primitive Movement Patterns to Compliment Training and Program Design
The three-day convention will feature presentations on a wide-range of subjects and I can't even begin to imagine where I will wind up once I get to the convention hall. There are 15 sessions Thursday capped off with the NSCA's International Index Competition, 17 sessions Friday and 13 sessions before things shut down Saturday afternoon.
In addition to all of this educational goodness and the Index Testing Championship, a Fly Solo Camp and Mentor Training will be conducted Wednesday and the exhibit hall will feature displays by over 140 companies.
I'm sure I'll experience sensory overload during the three days in Vegas, but I'll do my best to bring you at least some of the action. Make sure you check the site and you can also follow me on Twitter, @SalMarinello.
